Bristow & Sutor

Resuming Recruitment

27/07/2020

Bristow & Sutor has resumed recruitment activity and is currently hiring for Enforcement Agents (EAs), Collection Officers and several ad hoc roles within the business. This is a significant step in our ‘business as usual’ approach and has been made possible thanks to our direct model of employment, our ongoing investment in technology and our commitment to trainingCollections and enforcement agencies have been on the front-line of businesses affected by social distancing measures, but with Government legislation allowing visits to resume next month, growth has remained an integral part of our future strategy.

The inability to safely undertake visits and inspections during lockdown saw our EA members of staff furloughed and, despite customer support staff remaining available, almost all recruitment activity had to be placed on temporary hold.  All furloughed EA staff at Bristow & Sutor have continued to receive training and certification, so they would be prepared to work as soon as it was announced as safe to do so. From a local authority perspective this was essential, as businesses who did not retain staff will now need to recruit to replace. We are immediately recruiting to grow, which is important when considering some of our newest projects, such as our work with TfL (Transport for London).

As seen in our recent client surveys and webinars, many local authorities are keen to resume collections and enforcement activity as soon as possible. This will help to fill the holes left by loss of revenue streams and to help provide increased support to those impacted financially by the coronavirus pandemic. From Monday 20th Julywe began supplying reconnection letters to debtors, giving them the opportunity to set up flexible payment arrangements and discuss changing circumstances before services recommence from Monday 24th August.

Whilst recruitment was on hold, our achievements have continued. The business has acquired £6million pounds on behalf of clients during the COVID-19 pandemic and recently won Silver at DCXA’20 in the Digital Transformation and Change category. New employees starting their career with the business in the coming weeks and months can be safe in the knowledge they are joining a company that has remained steadfast in its commitment to innovation, ethical practices and success; even through these unique and challenging times.

Bristow & Sutor pledges to return to enforcement with flexible arrangements, ongoing reconnection availability, contactless visits, PPE for staff and vulnerability consideration at all times. We remain committed as ever to our ethos of being Cool, Calm and Collected
